Job Title: Residential Team Leader

At Mental Health America of South Central Kansas, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Team Leader to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Emergency Shelter, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for our homeless veterans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervision and guidance to Behavioral Health Specialists to maximize their performance and ensure compliance with VA contract expectations.
  • Conduct quarterly one-on-one supervision with BHS and quarterly ES team meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide thorough orientation and training to new hires and on-site supervision of employees to ensure a smooth transition and high-quality care.
  • Ensure BHSs fulfill expectations set forth in VA contract, including conducting monthly house meetings, providing daily transportation, offering psychosocial groups, and preparing heart-healthy menus.
  • Supervise and review medication inventory upon admission and ensure ongoing changes are communicated with the ES team to ensure an up-to-date Medication Summary Record (MSR).
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, Housing Case Managers, veterans, ES team, external stakeholders, and community providers to facilitate VA contract expectations and individualized plans of care.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with homeless populations, particularly veterans, and a strong understanding of the Housing First model.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support staff and veterans.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of VA contract expectations and ability to ensure compliance.
