Job Summary

We are seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the nursing process and providing exceptional care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and manage the activity at the nursing desk to support the nursing process and provision of care to the patient.
  • Monitor ECG's, Sao2, Co2 and pressures of patients in Inpatient Services. Responsible for notifying the nursing staff if any of these is outside predefined parameters and charting printed tracings every 8 hrs. and as needed.
  • Collect vital signs, intake and output, blood sugars, pain levels and other patient information as directed by the licensed nurse.
  • Reports to the licensed nurse any change in patient status, patient behavior, or unusual findings of data or incidents that might have occurred.
  • Documents accurately in the medical record the care that was delivered, activities completed, and other data that is collected for the patient.
  • Maintains clean and orderly patient rooms and unit.
  • Provides support to nursing staff and other personnel in the daily activities of the unit and during emergency situations.
Requirements
  • Minimum 6 months prior experience as a Nurse Aide in a healthcare environment or a second-year nursing student or 6 months prior experience in a medical setting.
  • Training as a Unit Secretary in a hospital or equivalent setting preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • PCT certification or CNA license desirable, but not required.
  • Active BLS certification, American Heart Association (AHA) is desirable.
