Responsibilities

In this role, you will plan, conduct, and direct the evaluation and certification of property loss prevention products, with minimal supervision, in the area of building materials and assemblies. You will work in our state-of-the-art laboratories, pushing the products' performance to the limit in relation to wind, fire, and other exposures.

You will contribute to increasing technical knowledge and providing solutions to property loss prevention and mitigation problems. Your duties will include developing proposals, project management, supervising tests, documenting results, preparing written reports, and other complex tasks associated with third-party product certification.

You may also be required to make presentations and represent the company at trade associations. The working environment includes both office and laboratory settings, with occasional overnight travel for customer consultations, technical conferences, and test facility visits.

Qualifications

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a BS in a technical field and at least 3 years of experience, or an MS in a technical field. A technical degree in civil, structural, environmental, or mechanical engineering is preferred.

You should have knowledge of building materials, components, and assemblies, as well as experience with statics and material properties. Demonstrated project management skills, results analysis skills, superior written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency with programs like Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential.

Professional registration and/or knowledge of FM Global Property Loss Prevention Datasheets is beneficial, as is knowledge of FM Approvals Standards. You must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understand and follow English instructions.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with outstanding relationship management skills, including exceptional customer service skills, excellent communication skills, active listening skills, effective speaking skills, and the ability to work effectively as a strong and supportive team member.

You should be able to organize work, set priorities, and plan effectively, and be able to work in a product evaluation environment involving fire, smoke, heat, and the use of adhesives and binders.

Benefits

The hiring range for this position is $85,800 to $123,300 USD, with the final salary offer varying based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
