The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the management and procurement of essential supplies, tools, and materials required for the efficient operation of maintenance activities. This role involves receiving and organizing all inventory items, maintaining cleanliness, overseeing storage areas, and executing local supply runs as needed.

The primary responsibilities include ensuring the supply room is adequately stocked to support production requirements. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to and promote safety protocols, standards, and regulations.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to uphold the integrity of plant resources.
  • Manage the ordering, receiving, and stocking of inventory, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds for stockroom maintenance.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in reconciling discrepancies with the automated inventory management system.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workspace that complies with food safety standards set by internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and legibly for assigned responsibilities.
  • Facilitate the delivery and receipt of parts as instructed.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Agent to coordinate the return of items for repair, exchange, or credit with vendors.
  • Provide support as needed for the Purchasing Agent.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid food handler's certification.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Forklift operation certification.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Project and Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Technical or Associate's degree, or relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement and purchasing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record of safety in previous employment.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality in the workplace.
