About This Role

Strava is seeking a highly skilled Technical Accounting Manager to join our team in San Francisco. As a key member of our controllership function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical accounting operations, ensuring full compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations.
  • Manage financial reporting, overseeing the preparation and review of accurate, timely financial statements.
  • Contribute to internal management reporting, providing detailed insights and analysis to support informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, People, and Partnerships teams to provide reliable technical accounting guidance.
  • Support audit and filing processes, ensuring all filings are completed accurately and on time.
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience in the technology industry, with a minimum of 4-5 years in public accounting.
  • CPA or equivalent certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting.
  • Specialized expertise in key accounting areas, including stock-based compensation, equity, lease accounting, revenue recognition, and business combinations.
  • Strong financial reporting skills, with a proven track record of preparing and reviewing financial statements.
  • Expertise in SOX and internal controls, with a strong background in Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting and financial reporting systems, including NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
