Position Summary
The Automotive Parts Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional service to customers by assisting them in selecting the necessary components, whether in person, via the workshop, or over the phone.
Key Responsibilities
- Engages with all customers (both retail and workshop) to help them identify and select the required parts in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner.
- Informs customers about related part requirements and ongoing promotions, ensuring they are aware of the complete product offerings.
- Handles incoming phone inquiries, offering price estimates and relevant information.
- Delivers a high standard of service to both internal and external clientele.
- Retrieves and processes orders from inventory.
- Alerts the parts manager regarding any out-of-stock items or urgent shop supplies.
- Sources out-of-stock components from external suppliers and places emergency orders when necessary.
- Informs the service advisor and customers upon the arrival of special order parts.
- Follows up on any back-ordered items.
- Restocks assigned inventory on a daily basis.
- Ensures all internal parts requests are billed accurately on service repair orders.
- Processes payments from retail customers or secures credit approvals.
- Confirms that all charge transactions are signed by the customer.
- Ensures customers receive their copies of invoices.
- Issues credits for returned parts, verifying original invoices or their numbers for accurate purchase and pricing validation.
- Maintains organized records of all repair orders, invoices, and special orders.
- Prepares orders for daily shipping, delivery, or customer pick-up.
- Conducts outreach to assigned accounts via phone.
- Keeps both front and rear counter areas tidy and free of clutter.
- Regularly cleans computer terminals and printers.
- Participates in available training programs.
- Stays updated on new products and product enhancements.
- Maintains a professional appearance at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
