Job Title: Automotive/Fleet Mechanic with Small Engine Experience

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive/Fleet Mechanic with small engine repair expertise to join our team at Clarke. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of vehicles and equipment, as well as providing technical support to our customers.

Job Summary:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team and contribute to the success of our company. As an Automotive/Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our vehicles and equipment, as well as troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. You will also be required to communicate effectively with customers, sales teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Communicate effectively with customers, sales teams, and other stakeholders
  • Assist with engineering, welding, and electrification of fleet projects as requested
  • Keep accurate records and logs of work performed and parts inventory
  • Actively seek ways to improve operations and efficiency
  • Participate in and engage in programs and work practices designed to foster a positive team atmosphere
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of recent automotive mechanic experience, with fleet experience and electric vehicle repair experience preferred
  • Previous small engine repair experience strongly preferred
  • ASE certificates preferred, with ability to obtain all 8 within first few years of employment
  • Exceptional technical aptitude, organization skills, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound business acumen
  • Demonstrated effective project management skills
  • Practical knowledge of electronics, with ability to operate a digital multi-meter
  • Creative ability to assist with fabricating improvements to equipment design
  • Excellent phone manner and customer service skills
  • Moderate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Capability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds and good physical dexterity
  • Ability to pass necessary state licenses and DOT physical required within first 14 days of employment
  • Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms
  • Valid Driver's License with an excellent driving record
  • Ability to travel, sometimes on short notice, to meet the needs of the business
