About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and caring Long-Term School Counselor to join our team at Constellation Schools in Lorain, Ohio. The successful candidate will promote student success, provide preventive services, and respond to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic and personal/social development for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a school counseling program that aligns with the school's mission and goals.
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students, as well as consultation and support to teachers and parents.
- Assess student needs and develop strategies to address academic and personal/social barriers to success.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and agencies to provide students with access to additional support services.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the school counseling program and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
- Valid State of Ohio certification and demonstrated competence as a school-based social services counselor.
- Strong social/emotional or trauma-informed care background preferred.
- Ability to work well under pressure and effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines.
- Ability to use discretion in managing confidential information.
- High-quality written and verbal communication skills.
