Job Title: Clinical Community Counselor

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Community Counselor to join our team at Applewood Centers, Inc. Our ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health services, social services, and education, with a focus on working with children, adolescents, and families in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties.

Job Summary:

The Clinical Community Counselor will provide in-home assessment, treatment, case management, crisis intervention, and advocacy to adolescents and families. This role requires a collaborative problem solver who can work effectively with a dedicated team of professionals, and is committed to empowering parents and improving their effectiveness by identifying strengths and developing natural support systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide Multisystemic Therapy (MST) services to a small caseload of youth and families in community settings, including clients' homes, schools, and neighborhoods.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and revise comprehensive individualized safety plans for each client/family served.
  • Engage primary caregivers and other key participants in active change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement.
  • Provide family therapy, parent training, cognitive behavioral therapy, skills building, school, and other community system interventions, and clarification work to each client/family served.
  • Conduct MST assessments, including review of referral information, identifying and engaging key participants, identifying systemic strengths and weaknesses, and developing an analysis of the fit of problem behaviors within the ecological context.
  • Participate in weekly group supervision and weekly phone consultation, and individual supervision as directed/requested.
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts that promote peer and supervisory review and feedback, and demonstrate compliance with MST Principles and the MST Analytic Process.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Level or higher professional with a major field of study in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or other human services field.
  • LSW, LPC, or MFT, and prior experience in the delivery of mental health services in the home/community to children and families with complex needs is essential.
  • This position requires flexibility of schedule and ability to travel in response to the needs of families.

  • Competitive salary range: $54,220-$60,220 (includes base salary and on-call/cell stipends) depending on degree and licensure.
