Job Summary
The Patient Services Coordinator acts as a vital link between patient care units and the Food Operations Department. This role is essential in facilitating the distribution and clarification of patient meal selections, aiding patients in making diet-compliant choices, and ensuring timely delivery of meal trays and snacks. Collaboration with nursing staff and the clinical team is crucial to enhance the overall patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Builds rapport with patients by providing essential information regarding Food Operations services.
- Addresses patient and customer inquiries with a positive approach, aiming to enhance satisfaction.
- Utilizes technology to input patient meal preferences, considering dietary restrictions, allergies, and individual likes and dislikes.
- Calculates fluid limitations and specialized meal plans in accordance with dietary needs.
- Delivers and retrieves meal trays from patient rooms, adhering to established infection control protocols.
- Assists patients with meal tray setup as required.
- Collaborates with clinical team members to address patient concerns and special requirements.
- Maintains inventory and stock levels in kitchen areas, ensuring proper rotation of products.
- Performs cleaning tasks in designated areas to uphold hygiene standards.
This position is typically carried out in an office-like environment, with responsibilities aligned with organizational policies and procedures. The outlined duties are not exhaustive but represent essential functions necessary for success in this role.
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will possess a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
Skills Required
Strong mathematical abilities, teamwork orientation, customer service expertise, and proficiency in computer applications are essential.
