Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in the design of prefabricated metal enclosures, utilizing SolidWorks computer software to create 2D and 3D electronic design plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create detailed design plans for prefabricated enclosures, encompassing structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and communication systems.
  • Develop and modify technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Coordinate the routing of ductwork, piping, and miscellaneous components with other trades.
  • Review design models with the design team during the design phase.
  • Collaborate with customers to communicate design requirements and specifications.
  • Support GTI's engineers and designers in the development of fabrication drawings and documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 10-15 years of experience in the production of detailed fabrication design drawings and documents.
  • Proven expertise in interconnectivity of mechanical weldments, mechanical fastening, tolerances, adjustability, and clearances.
  • Experience in overseeing multiple projects and ensuring timely completion.
  • Strong technical background, critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Adobe, and Microsoft products.
  • Ability to provide a portfolio with examples of fabrication drawings.
