Company Overview
Weichert, Realtors is seeking a highly skilled professional for the position of Senior Title Officer. This role is pivotal in ensuring the insurability of properties and managing complex title-related issues.

Key Responsibilities
The Senior Title Officer will:
  • Assess and evaluate title and legal matters, providing strategic recommendations for resolution.
  • Determine the insurability of properties under various circumstances, including but not limited to short sales, foreclosures, and estate situations.
  • Collaborate with the Agency's Title Insurance Underwriter to clarify insurability and liaise with the Settlement Department on title clearance.
  • Review title clearance issues and judgments, negotiating effectively with involved parties to establish escrows that protect the Agency's interests.
  • Provide comprehensive evaluations of title claims, reporting findings to the Vice President of Title Production.
  • Participate in commercial closings, addressing complex issues presented by lender's counsel.
  • Communicate proficiently with attorneys, realtors, clients, underwriters, and other stakeholders regarding title matters.
  • Conduct survey readings and prepare legal descriptions from survey prints.
  • Prepare title insurance commitments following a thorough evaluation of the county searcher's brief.
  • Resolve title issues and endorsements in consultation with the Vice President of Title Production.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from clients, agents, and internal staff.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior staff members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A high school diploma or GED; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • A Title Insurance Producer License.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in the title industry or a related field.
  • Strong familiarity with commercial closings and related procedures.
  • A solid understanding of real estate and mortgage industries, as well as real estate law.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Moderate mathematical skills, including knowledge of geometry and survey coordinates.
  • The ability to think critically and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
