Infrastructure Project Engineer

- Lead and coordinate field team operations.
- Provide expert consultation and direction to project stakeholders and management regarding engineering needs for various designs, alterations, and structural repairs.
- Utilize design software and drafting tools to effectively create and communicate project designs; plan and design additional necessary systems and structures such as transportation or hydraulic systems.
- Evaluate the integrity of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel through material and soil testing.
- Establish design criteria by calculating load and grade requirements, material stress factors, water flow rates, and other relevant parameters.
- Organize projects based on the analysis of pertinent materials including drawings, blueprints, aerial imagery, survey reports, maps, and other geological and topographical data.
- Prepare and present reports on project-related topics such as environmental impact assessments and right-of-way descriptions.
- Estimate the materials, equipment, and labor required to determine project budgets.
- Collaborate with architects, surveyors, and contractors to ensure proper project progression.
- Work alongside surveyors (or lead and participate in surveying) to establish installations or reference points, grades, elevations, and other factors influencing construction.
- Monitor project advancement and ensure compliance with design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Upon project completion, inspect, repair, and maintain structures as necessary.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
- Comprehensive understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.
- Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) and other design, data recording, and analysis software.
- In-depth knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in the construction or repair of buildings, bridges, roads, and other related structures.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations pertinent to assigned projects.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capacity to be both innovative and analytical.
- Highly detail-oriented and precise.
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- Professional licensure is preferred but not mandatory.
- Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites.
- Capability to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
