The Clinical Nurse Educator plays a vital role in the development and implementation of nursing education programs, ensuring that nursing staff have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide high-quality patient care.
This position is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating education programs, as well as providing mentorship and coaching to nursing staff.
The Clinical Nurse Educator will work closely with the Patient Care Services Leadership Team to develop and implement education programs that meet the needs of the organization and its patients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement education programs for nursing staff, including initial and ongoing competency assessment, professional development, and continuing education.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to nursing staff to enhance their knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with the Senior Informatics Nurse Specialist to engage end-user nurses in the development and optimization of the electronic medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives that impact assigned service line departments.
- Serve as a member of the Nursing Leadership Council and other nursing decision-making forums.
- BSN required; MSN preferred.
- 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
- 3 years of classroom/clinical teaching experience.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, as evidenced by previous experience as a Clinical Nurse Preceptor/Educator.
- Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- BLS & ACLS certification required; BLS Instructor certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- ANCC Board Certification in Nursing Professional Development or NLN Certified Nurse Educator.
Glens Falls Hospital offers a competitive salary range of $39.06 to $56.61 per hour, commensurate with experience level, education, and certifications.
Active, full-time and part-time employees who work at least 30 hours per week are eligible for valuable and competitive benefits offerings.
