Clinical Nurse Educator Job Description

CivicMinds, Inc is seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team. In this role, you will provide expertise in nursing practice and professional development in assigned service line departments.

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing Practice and Professional Development, you will function as an Educator, Facilitator, and Change Agent. Your primary responsibility will be to support the development of the Nursing Staff (Registered Nurses and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel) and foster empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence in evidence-based nursing practice.

You will develop, implement, and evaluate education programs and resources specific to initial and ongoing competency assessment, professional development, and continuing education. In partnership with the Senior Informatics Nurse Specialist, you will engage End-User Nurses in the on-going development and optimization of the electronic medical record.

This position participates in on-going quality improvement initiatives that impact assigned service line departments. You will serve as a member of the Nursing Leadership Council as well as other nursing decision-making forums.

Qualifications

  • BSN required. MSN preferred
  • 3 years of clinical experience is required
  • 3 years of clinical teaching experience preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills as evidenced by previous experience, e.g., preceptor, UBC Chair, member of shared governance council, etc.

Licenses/Certificates/Registrations

  • Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
  • AHA certification required, e.g., BLS, ACLS, & PALS
  • BLS Instructor Certification preferred (must be achieved within 12 months of hire)
  • ANCC Board Certification in specialty area preferred
