We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in providing expert phlebotomy services and ensuring the highest level of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform phlebotomy and other lab specimen collections in accordance with departmental policies and protocols.
- Receives and reviews physician orders, ensuring all necessary information is included for appropriate lab services.
- Enter accurate orders for lab tests in accordance with department policies and protocols.
- Process specimens in a timely manner to ensure stability and integrity of samples.
- Review and record refrigerator temperature(s) and QC/QA records, reporting any areas of concern to maintenance for repair.
- Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to biohazard waste procedures and ensuring proper storage and timely pickup of biohazardous waste.
- Perform lab-related clerical duties, including order entry, verification of test result receipt, and patient information retrieval.
- Ability to function as part of a highly effective team that consistently puts patients first.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
