This role is integral to the Commercial Bank Product division, focusing on advising, educating, and facilitating the implementation of primary risk initiatives. The position involves engaging in risk identification, assessment activities, and the development of risk-related training and procedures.

It is essential to ensure the prompt identification and escalation of risks and issues, providing consultation to business unit management on critical risk management matters to guarantee the effective execution of risk programs.

This role acts as a subject matter expert and may offer guidance to other team members as necessary.

Responsibilities:


Risk Oversight – Acts as a subject matter expert within the Product Organization, offering guidance and process coaching to ensure effective collaboration between the business unit and Risk Management teams.

Analyzes and utilizes business unit risk reports to pinpoint potential risks that could affect the unit and provides necessary clarifications.

Continuously monitors and reports on key indicators and limits, ensuring timely escalation of any breaches in accordance with the Risk Appetite Framework (RAF).

Assists in reviewing and enhancing internal controls, ensuring that control testing is conducted and results align with established Control Standards.


Risk Collaboration – Evaluates the impact of current and emerging issues and regulatory requirements, providing education to senior management and key stakeholders within the business unit.

Participates in mandatory risk training and educates business unit personnel on essential risk programs and topics.

Risk Governance – Maintains a comprehensive understanding of business operations, risks, controls, and applicable laws and regulatory guidance.

Supports the business unit's involvement in relevant risk governance meetings. Monitors and ensures the integration of Risk Limits into core business unit processes. Provides necessary feedback and coordinates on relevant governance documents to support business unit activities and manage risk. Prepares for external audits and supplies materials to regulators. Collaborates with senior management to implement effective program policies, standards, and procedures.

Position Specific Skills

Proficient in risk techniques, practices, and control frameworks.

Familiarity with various banking and government regulatory requirements and processes.

Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, senior management, and various committees.

Knowledge of regulatory guidance related to enterprise risk and operational risk.

Understanding of product management and supporting risk management initiatives within a product organization.

Qualifications:


Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Enterprise Risk or Operational Risk and Project Management or Internal/External Consulting, Business Risk Process Management, Product Management OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Enterprise Risk or Operational Risk and Project Management or Internal/External Consulting, Business Risk Process Management, Product Management.
