Investor Services Risk Manager - ETF Focus

Overview: Enterprise Risk Management is seeking an experienced Investor Services Risk Management professional focused on Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). This role is essential in driving our mission to strengthen and protect the firm and its clients by establishing a global framework for risk identification, supporting business lines in measuring and managing risks, and promoting a culture of risk awareness and transparency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify, assess, monitor, measure, and mitigate operational, financial, reputational, and strategic risks associated with ETF servicing.
  • Collaborate with product division leaders to identify and manage risks within the Investor Services line, especially related to ETFs.
  • Foster a culture of risk awareness and escalation throughout the business line.
  • Support the implementation of effective controls for the ETF service lifecycle, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Manage risks linked to new business initiatives, changes, and issue resolution in a leadership capacity.
  • Participate in forums to assess new products and services, ensuring risks are properly defined and mitigated before launch.
  • Identify and escalate trends and control weaknesses, developing sustainable risk management solutions.
  • Conduct targeted risk and control reviews of operational processes, presenting findings and monitoring corrective actions.
  • Utilize existing risk management tools for causal analysis of incidents.
  • Provide high-quality risk reporting and communication, representing the Investor Services Risk function within the organization.
  • Promote regulatory risk awareness and appropriate escalation to senior management.
  • Assist in implementing the risk and control framework for Investor Services in alignment with firm policies and regulatory expectations.
  • Develop training initiatives to enhance risk awareness and understanding among Investor Services staff.
  • Share insights on industry best practices impacting the Investor Services line of business.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and teams in Legal, Compliance, and Internal Audit for proactive risk mitigation.
  • Represent the firm in client engagements, industry initiatives, and conferences as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Analytical and inquisitive mindset.
  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with senior management.
  • University graduate with a proven track record of leadership and continuous improvement.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience, with at least 7 years focused on risk and control.
  • Familiarity with ETFs and associated risks is a plus.
  • This role is based in Boston and follows a hybrid model, requiring three days per week in the office.
