Job Summary:

The Endoscopy Technician 1 provides technical support to the physician during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, working under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN). This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assists with all types of GI procedures, including cleaning, high-level disinfection, and basic troubleshooting of endoscopes and accessory equipment.
  • Performs unit secretarial and clerical aspects of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse as needed.
  • Meets qualifications and competencies as identified in the department-specific Plan for Providing Care.
  • Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service and safe patient care.
  • Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • One year of GI Lab experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
