Position Overview
We are in search of a proactive Accountant to enhance our Property Accounting team. This role involves ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger, collaborating with various departments to comprehend their influence on financial statements, and working closely with other teams within the Accounting Department to guarantee the timely production of financial reports. The ideal candidate will possess a keen attention to detail, a proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively, and a desire to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced setting that values innovation and process enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries, manage bank reconciliations, and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Review balance sheets and income statements for accuracy.
  • Ensure adherence to month-end close deadlines.
  • Collaborate with various business units to understand their operational impact and provide assistance as necessary.
  • Engage with field teams and external partners to analyze financial results and offer necessary financial review and analysis support.
  • Conduct both recurring and ad hoc analyses of financial performance, trends, and metrics to inform business leaders.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests, ensuring compliance with SOX and internal controls.
  • Participate in training initiatives to enhance knowledge of the single-family residential sector.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting and financial statement preparation is preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel is essential.
  • Experience with Yardi is advantageous.

  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Physical and Mental Demands
This role may involve extended periods of sitting and using office equipment and computers.
