Department of PhysicsThe Department of Physics at Kennesaw State University is a vibrant and dynamic community of scholars dedicated to advancing knowledge and understanding in the field of physics. Our faculty are committed to teaching and mentoring students, and our research programs are focused on addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing society today. We offer a range of undergraduate and graduate degree programs in physics, including concentrations in general physics, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering.
Job SummaryKennesaw State University is seeking highly qualified part-time faculty members to join our Department of Physics. These positions are on an as-needed, semester-by-semester basis, and rank is determined at the time of hiring. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students, and who are committed to advancing knowledge and understanding in the field of physics.
Responsibilities- Teach calculus-based and/or algebra-based freshman/sophomore level physics courses, including lectures, recitations, and laboratories.
- Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate students, and prepare and conduct recitations (problem-solving sessions) to accompany algebra-based and calculus-based physics courses.
- Create and administer examinations, and evaluate and grade students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, and papers.
- Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
- Prepare course materials, such as syllabi, homework assignments, lecture presentations, and worksheets.
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in physics or a closely related discipline is required.
- OR A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required.
- Experience teaching online or hybrid courses at a 2-year or 4-year college or university.
