Food Service Director

At Quest Food Management Services, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead our food service operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving our food service contract experience in Downtown Chicago, Illinois.
About the Role:- Lead by example and maintain a professional and reputable work environment by enforcing policy and best practices that bring out a positive employment brand.
- Manage staff to include selection, work allocation, training, coaching and mentoring, problem resolution, performance evaluation, feedback, and corrective action.
- Oversee that the chef/managers consistently maintain high food quality and service levels.
- Interact with clients daily and maintain excellent client relationships through open and honest dialogue.
- Stay abreast of the competition by analyzing quarterly market analysis and consistent research of menu trends.
- Provide financial expertise in overseeing the management of Food, Labor, and Direct costs.
- Educate clients with monthly meetings with transparent financials.
- Identify and mentor next-level personnel to grow with the company and develop career paths, including training schedules.
- Hold managers accountable for food, labor, and direct cost controls and control expenditures for the account.
- Manage catering team to ensure quality in the final presentation of food.
- Manage the accounts marketing strategy programs to increase sales growth.
- Manage accountability of staff using goal-setting and performance management processes.
- Manage costs on all recipes.
- Oversee and accountability of all purchases and inventory levels.
- Oversee all menus.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum five years of food service contract management experience.
- Extensive experience in the food service industry, including a vast knowledge of establishing client relations and maintaining long-term client relationships.
- Exemplary leadership skills.
- Expertise of the P&L impact and accounting practices.
- Experience with cost controls, sanitation, and safety is required.
- Strong communication and client management skills.
- Solid knowledge of financials.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Responsible for meeting and maintaining state and local certification requirements (Food Service Manager).
