Job Summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking a skilled Medical Technologist to join our team. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures, analyzing data, and providing accurate results to healthcare professionals. You will also be responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing education and training to staff members.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests and procedures, including blood counts, chemistry tests, and microbiology tests.
• Analyzes data and provides accurate results to healthcare professionals.
• Maintains laboratory equipment, including calibration and maintenance of instruments and equipment.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, including CAP, DNV, OSHA, and State of Iowa accreditation processes.
• Provides education and training to staff members on laboratory procedures and equipment.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree with major in Medical Technology or related science.
• 3-5 years of experience as a working MT in a Medical Laboratory.
• Certification as a MT (ASCP) or the National Certification Agency.
• Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
