Job Summary

This supervisory position provides recovery-focused services related to the safe and appropriate administration of medical treatment, including medications, as prescribed by the physician. The LVN Supervisor will oversee and provide direct nursing care, organize and prioritize work on the assigned shift, and supervise designated staff.

Responsibilities
  • Provide recovery-focused services related to medical treatment administration
  • Oversee and provide direct nursing care
  • Organize and prioritize work on the assigned shift
  • Supervise designated staff
  • Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with members served
  • Collect data relevant to member care and develop nursing care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments to members served
  • Adhere to medication management policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and participate in counting medications and giving report at the beginning and end of each shift
  • Receives and presents change of shift reports as assigned
  • Notifies the prescriber and nursing supervisor of any changes in behavior or condition
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited LVN or LPT program and current licensure
  • Current CPR/BLS certificate
  • Two years of LVN/LPT experience in a healthcare environment
  • One year of supervisory experience
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with the population to be served and/or work in a similar program setting
  • Understanding of psychiatric illness and its treatment, and knowledge of psychotropic medication
Physical Demands

The physical demands of this job are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit, squat, kneel, twist, push, pull, and lift and carry items weighing 25 pounds or less, as well as to frequently walk, stand, bend, reach, and do simple and power grasping. The position requires manual dexterity, repetition, and hazard exposure.
