Network Engineer III – NOC Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and qualified individual to join our team as a Network Engineer III in our Lubbock, TX, office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot complex network and server problems to ensure seamless network operations.
  • Serve as a primary escalation point for complex network issues, providing expert-level support and guidance.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Lead meetings with NOC customers to discuss network performance, issues, and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained on tickets, delivering exceptional customer service and support.
  • Develop and train on NOC processes and procedures to ensure efficient and effective network operations.
  • Mentor less experienced team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Develop and implement advanced network solutions and architectures to drive business growth and innovation.
  • Stay up to date with emerging network technologies and trends to ensure our network infrastructure remains cutting-edge.
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making for customer network initiatives, driving business success and growth.
  • Work flexible shifts and participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 network support.

Requirements:

  • Expert-level knowledge of ethernet switching, IP routing, VoIP, DNS, and other networking principles.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operating, troubleshooting, or designing Internet Service Provider Networks at an expert level.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer/management information systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent required. Extensive experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot complex network environments.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, architectures, and security best practices.
  • Industry-relevant certifications at the advanced level (CCIE, CCNP, JNCIE, etc.).
  • Expert-level understanding of multiple ISP broadband access and core technologies (Adtran, Calix, Cambium, Juniper, Cisco, Ciena, Arista, etc.).
  • Proven ability to lead meetings and complex projects with customers.
  • Experience with automation, scripting, and/or coding is preferred but not required.
