Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Facilities Operations Specialist to join our team at WGNSTAR. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities equipment and providing top-notch support to our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facilities equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians and stakeholders to resolve equipment alarms, address non-routine issues, and implement preventative maintenance strategies.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with leaders and stakeholders on daily priorities, issues, and changes made to equipment.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot problems using reference materials and collaborate with team members to resolve complex issues.
  • Process Monitoring: Monitor and analyze area processes to identify and address issues that could impact Fab operations.
  • Cost-Reduction: Support area cost-reduction activities and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  • Installation and Removal: Assist with the installation, modification, and removal of facilities equipment.
Requirements
  • Rotating Shifts: Must be willing to rotate to the night shift as needed.
  • Overtime: Must be willing to work overtime when requested.
  • HVAC Experience: Familiarity with HVACR equipment and a HVAC Apprentice License or equivalent is required.
  • Technical Skills: Mechanical and technical skills, including the ability to become respiratory certified in SCBA, SKA, and APR, hazmat-certified, and certified in confined space rescue and CPR.
  • Procedural Knowledge: Proven ability to follow procedures and work with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility: Flexible with job responsibilities and shift assignments.

  • Relevant Degree or Certifications: Relevant degree or appropriate certifications or licenses.
Physical Effort/Activities
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Walking and Standing: The employee must have the ability to walk up to 10 miles a shift and frequently stand, walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or maneuver in areas of confined width and height space working in or around cramped mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards workspaces.
  • Lifting and Moving: The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Visual Abilities: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus with strong hand-to-eye coordination.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in constrictive attire, wearing appropriate personal protective safety equipment as required, and sit or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Physical Capacity: Capacity to work rapidly for long periods when needed, including routinely bending, stooping, reaching, walking, and standing in one location.
