This position requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong leadership skills to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain all tooling department equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Design and build molds, reviewing designs prior to cutting to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Repair molds, prioritizing the repair backlog to minimize downtime and maximize production.
  • Troubleshoot molding problems, identifying and resolving issues to maintain product quality and efficiency.
  • Inspect machined inserts, prioritizing the insert cutting backlog to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain tooling equipment, performing routine maintenance and repairs to prevent downtime.
  • Follow and enforce safety rules, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Support production operations, completing tasks in a timely manner to meet production goals.
  • Train, counsel, and discipline employees as necessary, promoting a positive and productive work environment.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience as a machinist, programmer, or shop supervisor, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks and Mastercam, with a minimum of 5 years of experience preferred.
  • Comparable combinations of training and experience may be considered.
  • Supervisory or managerial experience in a machine shop setting, with a strong ability to use independent judgment in determining methods and processes.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, work methods, and production flow.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and documentation.
