At Datwyler, we are seeking a skilled Tooling Supervisor to oversee all tooling activities, including mold design, mold making, insert making, and mold repair. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, work methods, and production flow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain tooling department equipment
  • Design and build molds, reviewing designs prior to cutting
  • Repair molds, prioritizing the repair backlog
  • Troubleshoot molding problems and make recommendations to production and engineering
  • Inspect machined inserts, prioritizing the insert cutting backlog
  • Maintain tooling equipment and follow safety rules
  • Support production operations through timely completion of tasks
  • Train, counsel, and discipline employees as necessary
Requirements:
  • Five years of experience as a machinist, programmer, or shop supervisor
  • Proficiency in Solidworks and Mastercam, with a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Comparable combinations of training and experience may be considered
  • Supervisory or managerial experience in a machine shop setting
  • Strong ability to use independent judgment in determining methods and processes
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, work methods, and production flow
  • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and documents
