Job Title: Product Engineer II

At Esri, we are seeking a highly skilled Product Engineer II to join our team. As a Product Engineer II, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and delivering the next generation of ArcGIS Enterprise, a suite of products that deliver state-of-the-art mapping and analytics capabilities to thousands of customers and millions of users worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate customer needs into technical requirements for future ArcGIS Enterprise software releases
  • Collaborate with product engineers and development engineers on software project teams to build new ArcGIS Enterprise software releases
  • Be a strong voice during design phase for server backend and UI development
  • Develop and implement test plans and test cases, write test code, and verify code changes and bug fixes
  • Review and analyze automated test results, report status on software quality and stability, and certify software quality
  • Troubleshoot and triage customer issues
  • Share workflows in help topics, blog articles, presentations, tutorials, and samples

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of industry experience in software testing or software development
  • Experience developing and implementing test plans and test automation for web services
  • Fundamental understanding of APIs and API design principles
  • Fundamental understanding of web services including REST and SOAP
  • Experience working with Python, Java, or other scripting languages
  • Experience with test frameworks such as Selenium, JUnit, or Ready API
  • Experience translating customer needs into technical requirements for the team
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to build and deliver quality software in a team environment
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Bachelor's in GIS, geography, engineering, computer science, math, or related field

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, or other geospatial technology
  • Familiarity with HTTP monitoring and debugging tools (Fiddler)
  • Experience with test automation and its value in ensuring quality and timely delivery of software
  • Previous experience and keen eye on UI design principles
  • Master's in GIS, geography, engineering, computer science, math, or related field
