Friendship Public Charter School operates a thriving network of college preparatory public charter schools. Headquartered in Washington, DC. The school serves over 4,800 students in preschool to grade 12 and guides a growing network of alumni to college completion annually. Nearly 70% of students are deemed at-risk due to family poverty, homelessness or other complex risk factors and 100% of students are eligible for free and reduced lunch due to community poverty. 98% are African American or Latino.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part Time After School Educator to join our team As an After School Program Instructor, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal growth of our students.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and engage with students during after-school activities
  • Facilitate the Friendship Cares academic and enrichment curricula
  • Complete daily attendance records accurately and on-time
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
  • Help students establish good habits of personal hygiene
  • Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs
  • Report any incidents or concerns to the Extended Day Site Coordinator
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old and meet licensing agency requirements
  • Have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the needs of others, and be able to relate well to children
  • Earned an associate's or more advanced degree from an accredited institution, or have completed 48 semester credit hours with 9 hours in child and youth development and 6 months of supervised experience working with school-age children, or have earned a high school diploma and a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with 1 year of supervised experience
  • Meet COVID-19 vaccination requirements unless exempt
Salary and Benefits
