Pediatric Nurse Specialist

The Pediatric Nurse Specialist provides expert professional nursing care to patients with urgent, emergent, or potential health problems. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care rendered to patients. The ideal candidate will have formal training in nursing, current state licensure, and BLS certification. Additionally, experience in clinic-based nursing, dedication to patient satisfaction, and effective communication skills are essential. The Pediatric Nurse Specialist will work collaboratively with physicians and other staff members to manage the department and provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess patients' health needs and develop individualized care plans
Implement and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans
Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Participate in departmental management and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements:
Formal training in nursing from an accredited RN school
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
BLS certification
Experience in clinic-based nursing
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams
Working Conditions:
The Pediatric Nurse Specialist will work in a fast-paced clinical environment, requiring the ability to move, traverse, and position oneself for up to eight hours per day. The role also involves lifting, moving, and transporting patients and materials, as well as manual dexterity and motor coordination. Articulate speech, reading, and understanding medical information, visual acuity, and color distinction are also essential.
