Mount Carmel, a member of Trinity Health, has been a transforming healing presence in Central Ohio for over 135 years. Our organization serves over 1.3 million patients each year at our four hospitals, free-standing emergency centers, outpatient facilities, surgery centers, urgent care centers, primary care and specialty care physician offices, community outreach sites and homes across the region.
We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Registration Specialist to join our team. This individual will ensure the collection of accurate and complete registration/admission information and completion of required forms for all patients. Ensuring collections of patient deductibles, co-pays, coinsurance and deposits is also a key responsibility. The ideal candidate will gather and evaluate confidential patient financial data for purposes of determining patient qualification for financial assistance and/or patient financial responsibility.
This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to act as an information resource to other departments and physician offices. Understanding relation between diagnosis and procedure using CPT and ICD-9 coding to ensure compliance with third-party regulations is essential. The specialist must understand Medicare, Medicaid and other third-party information requirements and adhere to all relevant regulations. Establishing payment arrangements for patients and evaluating past account history is also a key aspect of this role.
The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in healthcare administration, business administration or a related field. A minimum of three years' experience in a physician's office, clinic, hospital business office, financial service setting, or related area dealing with the public in collection of data and funds is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment are also required.
In return for your hard work and dedication, you can expect a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, starting from day one. You will also be eligible for a retirement savings account with employer match, generous paid time off programs, employee recognition programs, tuition/professional development reimbursement, relocation assistance, discounted tuition and enrollment opportunities at the Mount Carmel College of Nursing, and an Employee Referral Rewards program.
