Key Responsibilities - Commercial Plumber:
- Assemble, install, maintain, and conduct pressure tests on all piping, fittings, drainage, and gas systems in accordance with plumbing specifications and regulations.
- Analyze blueprints and building codes to ascertain work details and methodologies.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and engage in contract negotiations.
- Examine building plans and assess structures to determine material and equipment requirements, establish installation sequences, and plan installations around obstacles such as electrical wiring.
- Identify plumbing issues and execute repairs as specified or as per work orders.
- Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing equipment.
- Receive and fulfill work orders and service requests.
- Select appropriate materials and hardware for the tasks at hand.
- Maintain precise records of materials and labor utilized.
- Manage inventory of company-owned tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Inspect completed jobs to ensure cleanliness and compliance.
- Collaborate with clients to finalize projects.
- Detect necessary repairs on buildings and equipment through established inspection protocols.
- Respond to urgent service calls as required.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Operate tools and machinery following established safety guidelines.
- Ensure all equipment is in safe working order.
- Adhere to established safety procedures and techniques while performing job duties, including lifting and climbing.
Experience Requirements - Commercial Plumber:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in the plumbing industry.
Knowledge and Skills - Commercial Plumber:
- Proficient understanding of plumbing repair, maintenance, and installation practices.
- Familiarity with plumbing codes and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents.
- Competence in performing mathematical calculations.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
Tools and Equipment - Commercial Plumber: Utilizes hand and power tools, pipe bender, propane torch, sewer rooter, and heavy machinery including forklifts, trenchers, and backhoes, as well as light trucks or vans.
