Job Summary

This is a temporary, substitute custodial worker position available in all Henrico County Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strip, seal, wax, and buff floors to a high standard
  • Scrub and rinse floors in assigned areas, including auditoriums, libraries, and hallways
  • Damp mop a variety of rooms, including kitchens, locker rooms, and mechanical equipment rooms
  • Dust rooms, offices, furniture, and cupboards, and remove cobwebs
  • Empty and wash garbage cans
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment
  • Ability to use cleaning supplies and equipment economically and efficiently
  • Ability to follow simple oral and written directions
  • Good physical condition required
  • Ability to work at high altitudes using scaffolds, ladders, etc.
Working Conditions

This is a temporary, hourly position with a maximum of 29 hours per week. No benefits are offered. The minimum salary is $15.76 per hour, and will be prorated based on official position start date.
