Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodial Worker to join our team at Henrico County Public Schools. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strip, seal, wax, and buff floors to a high standard
  • Scrub and rinse floors in assigned areas, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment
  • Dust and clean a variety of rooms, including auditoriums, libraries, and classrooms
  • Sweep and clean shops, stairs, and entrance areas, as well as locker rooms and bleachers
  • Empty and wash garbage cans, and maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including overtime work as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment
  • Ability to work at high altitudes using scaffolds, ladders, and other equipment
  • Good physical condition required
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, working 6 hours a day or 30 hours a week. The work schedule will vary depending on the school year and summer hours.

Compensation

The salary for this position is $15.76 per hour, with the option to prorate the salary based on the official position start date.
