Position Overview:
We are seeking a licensed Structural Engineer to enhance our professional design services team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant design engineering experience, demonstrating a strong desire to learn and innovate. The role involves designing structural support systems for diverse building projects, offering opportunities to deepen expertise in building systems design. We value proactive individuals who can navigate various design phases efficiently, from initial concepts to finalized construction documents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct design calculations for projects in accordance with local codes.
  • Perform structural analysis using advanced software tools.
  • Create structural models and detailed framing plans using Revit.
  • Visit project sites to document and assess existing conditions.
  • Collaborate with clients and consultants to coordinate structural design efforts.
  • Design building components including timber, concrete, masonry, light gauge, and steel framing.
  • Prepare comprehensive design and construction documents.
  • Integrate structural engineering concepts with other disciplines.
  • Engage with clients, consultants, and contractors throughout project development.
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals for construction approval.
  • Conduct investigations to assess damages and determine failure origins.
  • Collaborate with fire investigators to produce detailed reports on losses.
  • Serve as an expert witness when required.
  • Document billable hours for forensic engineering projects.
  • Work with EFI's national team of forensic experts to leverage insights.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution. A Professional Engineering (PE) license is mandatory.

Experience: A minimum of six years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.

Skills:
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and engineering software.
  • Strong analytical and interpretive abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to meet performance expectations consistently.
Work Environment:

Mental and Physical Requirements:
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
