Job Summary

As a Thrift Store Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for supervising and participating in the day-to-day operations of the Thrift Store and warehouse, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining the neatness and attractiveness of store merchandise, assisting customers in locating items and prices, and explaining store policy. Additionally, you will assist employees in resolving routine problems and performing special assignments, and assume the responsibilities of the Thrift Store Manager as needed.

Key Responsibilities

* Supervise and participate in the day-to-day operations of the Thrift Store and warehouse
* Maintain the neatness and attractiveness of store merchandise
* Assist customers in locating items and prices
* Explain store policy and ensure compliance
* Assist employees in resolving routine problems and performing special assignments
* Assume the responsibilities of the Thrift Store Manager as needed

Requirements

* High School diploma or equivalent
* One year of experience working in a retail store, preferably a Salvation Army Thrift Store, with some experience supervising the work of co-workers
* Ability to perform frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting or operating a vehicle
* Ability to work in a normal store environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather

Certifications/Licenses

* Valid Driver's license
