High Severity Claims Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced High Severity Claims Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Claims department, you will be responsible for handling complex claims with high severity.

About the Role

In this role, you will investigate, evaluate, and negotiate high complexity claims in compliance with established company technical and customer service standards. You will interact with various individuals, including insureds and claimants, to explain benefits, coverages, fault, and claims process. Your primary objective is to resolve claims efficiently and effectively, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate with insureds, claimants, and other stakeholders to gather information and resolve claims
  • Evaluate claim values based on property, bodily injury, and liability data
  • Negotiate settlements within established authority limits
  • Update database production reports and document claim files via company systems
  • Verify and interpret policy coverage to ensure applicability
  • Coordinate with internal and external departments as required
Requirements
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Prior litigation experience and moderate computer and line of business technical software skills
  • Solid knowledge of negligence and subrogation principles, moderate understanding of vehicle nomenclature and repair practices
  • Advanced organization and planning recognition skills, advanced oral and written communication skills, and advanced interpersonal skills
  • Minimum 3 years Casualty experience and ability to attend depositions, mediations, and trials
