Liferay Developer Job Description

Southern Talent Specialists is seeking a highly skilled Liferay Developer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale web portal solutions using the Liferay platform.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop feature-rich web portals with a focus on usability and site performance.
  • Deliver solutions based on requirements and schedule, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Establish and execute traceable unit and integration tests to ensure the quality of the developed solutions.
  • Provide estimates for work effort on assigned projects and maintain a high level of technical expertise.
  • Maintain the Liferay portal environment following standard guidelines for designing and developing secure, supportable, reusable, service-oriented, and performing solutions.
  • Understand and apply industry practices, architectural standards, and department policies and procedures relating to work assignments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
Requirements
  • In-depth understanding of the Liferay platform and development best practices.
  • At least 5 years of experience delivering extranet/customer solutions from start to finish.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Dev Team Lead.
  • 5+ years of Java/J2EE application design and development experience.
  • Experience with MVC design pattern, Hibernate/Spring frameworks, and Maven.
  • Experience implementing and utilizing Web services, Service/System Integrations.
  • Strong Web UI development skills (i.e., HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements.
  • Experience delivering technical design & architecture documentation.
  • Experience with code management tools, automated build setup, and deployment procedures.
  • 5+ years of strong Liferay hands-on experience, including configuring Liferay sites and organizations with permissions, developing portlets, custom themes, and WCM features, and implementing logging, usage metrics, audit trail, and usage analytics components.
  • Project experience with Liferay 7.x DXP is required, as well as experience with ReactJS (at least version 17).
