Licensed Vocational Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support services in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Perform clinical intake, prepare patients for exams and treatments, and administer medications as directed by physicians or providers.
- Education and Support: Provide education to patients and families regarding patient conditions and ongoing care, and assist in the resolution of complaints and inquiries.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Complete medical record documentation and assist physicians in maintaining accurate medical records.
- Supply Management: Maintain supplies and reorder as necessary to ensure a smooth clinical operation.
- Communication: Respond to calls and questions from patients and physicians, and translate between providers and patients as needed.
- Education: High school or general education diploma (GED) and graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse program.
- Experience: Two years of related experience in a hospital, clinical setting, or related field preferred.
- Language: Fluent in English and Spanish required.
- Certifications: Licensed by the Board of Nurse Examiners in the State of Texas as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, and Basic Life Support Certification preferred.
The work environment is a medical office setting with direct contact with patients. The position requires bending, stooping, twisting, turning, walking, climbing step stools, sitting, and standing for periods of time. The ability to lift and maneuver 25 pounds is also required.
