Key Responsibilities- Patient Intake and Assessment: Conduct thorough clinical intake and assessment of patients to determine their chief complaints and document their medical history.
- Pre-Exam and Treatment Preparation: Prepare patients for exams, treatments, or procedures, ensuring they are comfortable and informed throughout the process.
- Medication Administration and Education: Administer medications and treatments as directed by physicians or providers, and provide education to patients and their families regarding their condition and ongoing care.
- Consultation and Collaboration: Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care, and provide translation services as needed during office or telehealth visits.
- Medical Record Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, and assist physicians in maintaining patient records.
- Supply Management and Maintenance: Order and maintain supplies, and ensure the clinic is clean and organized.
- Quality Assurance and Improvement: Participate in quality assurance checks, and assist in the resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from clients.
- Reporting and Compliance: Report STDs, communicable diseases, and other relevant information to appropriate agencies, and follow established processes and guidelines for the usage of ImmTRAC and Texas Vaccines for Children's (TVFC).
- Lab Procedures and Equipment Maintenance: Perform blood glucose monitoring, lab procedures, and equipment maintenance, and document actions as required.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, and graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse program. Two years of related experience in a hospital, clinical setting, or related field preferred.
- Language Skills: Fluent in English and Spanish, with the ability to read and interpret medical documents, and translate between providers and patients.
- Certifications and Licenses: Licensed by the Board of Nurse Examiners in the State of Texas as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, and Basic Life Support Certification preferred.
- Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and electronic health records.
