Key Responsibilities

The Revenue Cycle Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting various revenue cycle management (RCM) functions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing and scanning payment batches and related documents accurately and promptly.
  • Preparing and managing daily bank deposits.
  • Handling correspondence and payments through Lockbox to ensure timely posting.
  • Monitoring unassigned payments and registering insurance information in the management system.
  • Addressing returned mail and updating patient information as necessary.
  • Researching payment posting through payer portals.
  • Coordinating medical records requests with external vendors.
  • Reviewing patient credit balances for potential refunds.
  • Providing exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
  • Adapting to organizational changes and supporting the insurance department as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations in all patient interactions.
