Lead Manager, Scientific Collaboration plays a crucial role within the Global Medical Affairs Scientific Collaboration Team, reporting directly to the Director of Scientific Collaboration for designated therapeutic areas. This role is pivotal in guiding and managing the Global Scientific Collaboration Team to support both marketed products and those in development. The Lead Manager will also lend medical expertise to the Promotional Review Committee for the assigned therapeutic areas.
This is a full-time, exempt, remote position associated with our organization and reports to the Director of Scientific Collaboration Lead CNS & Metastases.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and direct Global Scientific Collaboration initiatives in conjunction with the Medical Director for designated therapeutic areas to ensure that corporate objectives and milestones are achieved.
- Ensure that the output of the Global Scientific Collaboration meets the expectations of Global and Regional cross-functional partners.
- Lead a small team comprising Managers, Specialists, Fellows, and Interns within the Global Scientific Collaboration team to guarantee alignment with operational goals, excellence in execution, and adherence to quality performance standards and compliance protocols.
- Manage Global Scientific Collaboration resources to ensure that materials align with corporate strategies.
- Engage in medical affairs team meetings and provide updates on program developments to internal stakeholders as necessary.
- Lead or oversee cross-functional working groups for matrixed projects to ensure that messaging and materials are consistent with Global Scientific Collaboration objectives and corporate strategies.
- Assist in identifying, sourcing, evaluating, and hiring vendors as needed for departmental projects. Participate in vendor presentations as appropriate.
- Manage the PRC review process for assigned therapeutic areas, including tumor-agnostic and ad-hoc reviews in collaboration with Medical Directors.
- Actively contribute to Medical Affairs planning and departmental initiatives for designated therapeutic areas.
- Oversee congress planning and the design/execution of medical booths/exhibits. Develop a prospective plan for primary conference participation.
- Monitor competitive intelligence initiatives for assigned therapeutic areas.
- Collaborate with other medical affairs team members to ensure comprehensive congress coverage, data consolidation, and thorough analysis.
- Engage in additional competitive intelligence efforts for relevant therapeutic areas.
- Develop and implement appropriate policies, standard operating procedures, and business practices.
- Formulate and execute strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiencies and quality output.
- Maintain an understanding of current industry standards and practices, ensuring that activities comply with company policies and standards.
- Ability to translate corporate strategies and objectives into actionable medical affairs and communications programs.
- Proficient in prospective planning, project management, cross-functional collaboration, and timeline management.
- Strong scientific knowledge, mastery of statistical analysis, and capability to interpret clinical and scientific studies.
- Prior experience in people management is advantageous.
- Strategic thinker, naturally curious, detail-oriented, and able to maintain a broader perspective.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel.
- Able to navigate ambiguity and facilitate discussions to manage differences effectively.
- Advanced scientific degree (Ph.D., PharmD, M.D.) with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or scientific research.
- Experience in the solid tumor domain is preferred.
- Demonstrated success in cross-functional project management and execution.
- Exceptional writing, reviewing, editing, and oral presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
