Job Overview
The MEMS Process Engineer will collaborate closely with ASIC and sensor design and fabrication teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
This role encompasses a broad range of MEMS-specific process development tasks to enable comprehensive wafer processing for ACEINNA's initial sensor prototypes.
This position reports to the Sensor Development Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute semiconductor and MEMS wafer processing activities.
- Innovate new silicon fabrication processes to enhance the functionality of high-performance inertial sensors.
- Design and document a complete process flow necessary for producing fully functional sensor devices and validating their performance.
- Coordinate efforts across various university and R&D lab settings to finalize sensor fabrication.
- Work alongside sensor design engineers to identify and resolve product challenges.
- Assist customers with engineering samples and address any related issues.
- Collaborate with module design, production, and quality assurance teams to facilitate the transition of products into mass production.
Applicants should possess an Electrical, Material, or Chemical Engineering degree (MS required, PhD preferred) with a minimum of 3 years of experience demonstrating a successful track record in developing MEMS-specific processes.
Essential skills include:
- Proficiency in MEMS wafer processing techniques, including multiple wafer bonding, deep reactive ion etching (DRIE), vapor HF, and double-sided wafer processing.
- Experience in university or laboratory environments focused on silicon wafer processing.
- Familiarity with collaborating with external service providers for MEMS processing.
- Competence in data analysis tools such as JMP, Minitab, or Matlab.
- Ability to work independently and autonomously.
- Strong communication skills, negotiation abilities, and a commitment to follow-through.
- Experience in MEMS or semiconductor wafer processing is essential.
- Background in MEMS sensor development is advantageous.
- Knowledge of semiconductor packaging is beneficial.
- Familiarity with mask layout tools such as L-Edit or equivalents is a plus.
- Understanding of SPC, DOE, FMEA, and Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
