Pediatric Clinical Geneticist Position at Tenet Healthcare

Position Overview
The Division of Genetic, Genomic, and Metabolic Disorders at Tenet Healthcare Corporation is seeking a dedicated full-time MD/DO Clinical Geneticist to join our team.
Key Features of the Role
In this role, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to tailor their clinical, research, and leadership responsibilities based on their individual interests and expertise. Primary duties will involve patient evaluations and genetic counseling within our outpatient genetics clinics. The clinical genetics team is composed of six genetic counselors, two genetic counselor assistants, one nurse practitioner, and two board-certified Clinical Geneticists. Additionally, our metabolic team includes a board-certified Medical Biochemical Geneticist, a genetic counselor, three dietitians, three nurses, and two nurse practitioners, along with part-time support from a psychologist.
Further responsibilities encompass the assessment and management of patients in the inpatient consultation service, as well as the supervision and education of medical students, genetic counseling students, residents, and fellows. There is also a potential opportunity to take on the role of Program Director for the Medical Genetics and Genomics residency, along with the freedom to pursue personal research interests. The academic rank and compensation will be aligned with qualifications and experience, and leadership opportunities within the division are available based on interest and experience.
About Our Division
We are proud to have an active Medical Genetics and Genomics Residency program with four current trainees, complemented by an accredited Genetic Counseling Graduate Program. Our on-site Cytogenetic/Molecular laboratory, directed by board-certified laboratory geneticists, enhances our clinical services.
Candidate Qualifications
- MD or DO degree required
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Clinical or Medical Biochemical Genetics and Clinical Genetics
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics or Internal Medicine is preferred
- Must be eligible for licensure in the State of Michigan
