At SpaceX, we're looking for a skilled Avionics Manufacturing Specialist to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of space technology and contribute to developing novel solutions for delivering satellites into earth orbit, ferrying humans to and from the international space station, and extending humanity's reach beyond the earth and moon.

We're offering an estimated annual salary of **$120,000** based on national averages in the United States. This figure is subject to change based on individual qualifications, location, and other factors.

This position requires ownership of the relationship between our engineering and supply chain teams. You will provide input into the design and development of new and existing hardware, take a lead role in manufacturing and integration within the supply chain on our current and next-generation vehicles, and ensure consistent manufacture of products.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing engineering support for wire harness design and associated process improvements to improve manufacturing efficiency, ensure product quality, and lower costs for new and existing products throughout the supply chain
  • Integrating with the responsible wire harness engineering team and supporting the analysis and disposition of supplier non-conformances
  • Resolving power electronics component and finished harness assembly failures and focusing actions on the root cause; ensuring supplier compliance to procedures and assisting in supplier corrective actions and resolution to audit findings
  • Executing successful work transfer when required, including the buildup of supplier facility infrastructure, the transfer of product knowledge, and the development of equipment required to qualify product
  • Developing and maintaining the documentation necessary, including external supplier documentation, to ensure consistent manufacture of products
  • Using project management skills and tools to investigate and lead projects for alternate component technologies for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability
  • Identifying and assessing suppliers for technical, quality, and manufacturing capabilities and opportunities to support SpaceX business strategies
  • Defining, procuring, and supporting test equipment at suppliers
