Role Summary:

We are looking for a compassionate and committed Native American Recovery Coach / Community Liaison to join our organization. This role will primarily involve offering culturally relevant recovery coaching and assistance to Native American individuals and communities. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of Native American cultures, traditions, and the specific challenges faced in the context of substance use and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver personalized recovery coaching and support to Native American individuals recovering from substance use disorders.
  • Organize group support sessions, workshops, and activities that integrate Native American cultural practices.
  • Act as a bridge between The Happier Life Project and Native American communities, nurturing strong partnerships.
  • Collaborate with community leaders, tribal organizations, and stakeholders to enhance awareness of recovery resources.
  • Develop and execute culturally sensitive recovery plans tailored to the unique needs of Native American clients.
  • Engage in outreach and educational initiatives to inform Native American communities about substance use disorders and available support services.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of Native American individuals in recovery, ensuring their perspectives are acknowledged.
  • Maintain precise and confidential records of client interactions and progress.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to remain informed about best practices in recovery coaching and cultural sensitivity.
Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Peer Support Specialist, Recovery Coach, or the ability to obtain certification within four months of hire.
  • Personal lived experience with recovery from substance use disorders and/or mental health challenges is highly regarded.
  • Strong familiarity with Native American cultures, traditions, and history, particularly in the Inland Empire region.
  • Experience working with Native American communities and individuals impacted by substance use disorders.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in English and a Native American language spoken in the Inland Empire region.
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.

Pay: $27.00 per hour

Expected Hours: 20 – 40 per week
