Job Summary

Victor is seeking a highly skilled Certified Wellness Coach II to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing non-clinical services that support youth behavioral health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group support for students with behavioral health concerns, promoting emotional well-being and wellness through structured curriculum materials.
  • Facilitate promotion and prevention program services, including health education related to behavioral health, raising awareness of prevalent conditions through organized curricula.
  • Connect students to behavioral health support resources, such as outpatient therapy, support groups, social services, and applicable agency services.
  • Deliver wellness education on topics like fundamental behavioral health symptoms, nutrition, and exercise.
  • Support students in setting and planning goals, including areas of improving physical activity and sleep habits.
  • Instruct on essential life skills, such as stress management, time management, and problem-solving.
  • Provide guidance on coping skills for youth, including behavior activation, recognizing thinking patterns, using distraction strategies, and regulating emotions.
  • Facilitate small group sessions aimed at improving wellness and life skills, focusing on social-emotional skills, stress management, time management, organization, and problem-solving.
  • Recognize and identify potential risks, referring to on-site behavioral health providers and following established protocols.
  • Document activities related to services provided and submit within designated timelines.
Requirements
  • Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Addiction Studies, Child Development/Early Intervention, Psychology, or Sociology from an accredited California Community College.
  • Minimum of one year of related work or field experience in mental health, substance use/addiction, social work, child welfare, or related fields in educational settings, non-profit organizations, community organizations, clinics, or health centers.
  • Current California Certified Wellness Coach Certification.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the English language, with the ability to effectively communicate with students and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using a computer and Microsoft Office suite.
Position Requirements
  • Valid California driver's license, personal automobile insurance, and driving record meeting the Agency's Policy: Motor Vehicle Operating Standards.
  • Physical and mental fitness in accordance with the Agency's Policy: Physical Fitness Standards and Examinations.
  • Willingness to complete a Tuberculosis (TB) test and drug screening test.
  • Willingness to complete a personal background investigation conducted by the State of California.
  • Obtain First Aid Certification and CPR Certification (when required by local county or site).
  • Ability to work in a culturally integrated workplace, respecting human differences based on protected classes as defined by state, federal, and local laws.
