Job Summary:

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Store Shift Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for supervising store employees during overnight operations, ensuring efficient management of store operations, inventory, and effective presentation of merchandise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Train and coach overnight associates on proper procedures and company standards.
  • Assess work completion and implement performance standards and measures.
  • Conduct safety meetings and ensure associates are properly trained on safety practices.
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized store and facilitate a safe and secure working and shopping environment.
  • Ensure execution of the stores 7 Day Workflow Plan and utilize the HHT as an investigative device to prevent out of stocks and overstocks.
  • Organize backroom operations, including receiving area, and ensure proper rotation of perishable food items.
  • Follow company policies and procedures as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures manual, Employee Handbook, and company communications.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two to three years of retail clerk experience.
  • Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and knowledge of cash handling procedures.
  • Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
  • Understanding of safety policies and practices.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent walking and standing.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Frequent handling of merchandise and equipment.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
  • Fast-paced environment; moderate noise level.
