Job Summary:

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Store Shift Supervisor to join our team. As a Store Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising store employees during overnight operations, assisting with efficient management of store operations, inventory, and effective presentation of merchandise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Train and coach overnight associates on proper procedures and company standards.
  • Assess work completion and follow up with associates regarding performance.
  • Implement performance standards and measures.
  • Conduct safety meetings and ensure overnight associates are properly trained on all safety practices.
  • Train associates in the proper execution of recovery standards to model store standards.
  • Ensure the execution of the stores 7 Day Workflow Plan as it relates to stocking standards and (Find-Fill-Fix) procedures for night shift.
  • Ensure the stores HHT is used as an investigative device to prevent out of stocks as well as overstocks.
  • Responsible for the organization of the backroom operations to include the receiving area.
  • Ensure that all merchandise is presented according to established practices and plans.
  • Assist with Tote Inventory Management processes.
  • Ensure sales shelf preparation and organization of staging areas for new deliveries.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two to three years of retail clerk experience.
  • Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and knowledge of cash handling procedures.
  • Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
  • Understanding of safety policies and practices.
  • Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent walking and standing.
  • Frequent bending, stooping and kneeling to run check out station, stock merchandise and unload trucks.
  • Frequent handling of merchandise and equipment.
  • Frequent and proper lifting of up to 40 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds.
  • Occasional climbing using ladder.
  • Fast-paced environment; moderate noise level.
  • Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Occasionally exposed to hazardous cleaning solutions.
  • Occasionally exposed to slippery floor surfaces.
  • May be exposed to extreme cold in freezers.
